We highly recommend use of the free app – What3words which can be downloaded to your mobile device ahead of the day, to assist with locating the centre entrance on the day much more precisely than Google Maps or using SatNavs alone. What3words works alongside Waze to help avoid traffic delays also. What3words is available as a free app for iOS and Android or view online without download using the direct what3words links to the centre location below.

To locate the centre on what3words use: decorated.embraced.duration which will bring you right to our own private entrance. There is ample free parking on-site, park wherever you prefer just ensuring you are not blocking access for other businesses. Then walk up to our entry door, located just behind the large tree. You’ll see The Beauty Academy signage in our window.

Travelling by Car:

If coming via the A14 from Bury St Edmunds direction, leave the A14 at Junction 39 and travel along the Bury Road B1506 with Phoenix Bike Park on your right hand side followed by B15 Garage / MOT centre on your right, which will bring you into Kentford / Kennett village. Continue straight through the village, you’ll pass The Kentford Pub on your left followed by The Bell Inn on your right as you pass a crossroads. Keep going straight until you see the signs for Landwades Business Park on your left.

If travelling via the A14 from Cambridge direction, leave the A14 at junction 38 and travel a short distance on the A11 exiting onto the Fordham / Kentford B1085 slipway. Turn right at the junction and continue on, taking the second exit at the roundabout onto Dane Hill Road B1085. Branch right onto Station Road B1085 and follow this all the way down past Kennett station and into the village until you come to the crossroads with The Bell Inn pub on your left. Turn right at the crossroads onto the B1506 and you’ll take a left hand turning into Landwades Business Park which is clearly signposted from the main road.

We would recommend travelling by car wherever possible, as while serviced by a nearby mainline station in Kennett, train connections and times are limited and there are few buses that regularly service the area. If you must travel by train, you may wish to consider using the larger nearby Newmarket station and then picking up a taxi to the training centre (approx. 4 miles from Newmarket station).

Travelling by Train:

Kennett Station services the Ipswich to Cambridge train line regularly. The station is 0.5 mile walk from the training centre. When you exit the station, turn right and walk up Station Road. Keep walking until you see The Bell Inn on your left hand side at the crossroads. Turn right at the cross roads (you may need to cross over the road for safety) but keep The Bell Inn on your right as you walk just a short way out of the village down the B1506, where you’ll see signs for Landwades Business Park on the left hand side of the road.

Finding our entrance:

Once you’ve entered Landwades Business Park, walk or drive walk straight down keeping the large yellow brick building on your left, until you see a small wooden building with brick chimney on your left. Follow the road round to the left past this wooden building keeping the large dark brown wooden buildings on your right hand side. You’ll see a green wire fence ahead to the left and will go down a small slope. Feel free to park wherever there is space beyond this green wire fence. Our entrance is in the small stone building, behind the large tree on the small green directly behind the green wire fence. You’ll see our signage in the window.

Our diploma and VTCT beauty, holistic, nail and make-up courses in Newmarket are run at our well-equipped beauty school located on the peaceful and pleasant surroundings of Landwades Business Park.

The centre is equipped to teach a wide variety of training courses with up-to-date equipment and excellent teaching staff. We have a central reception area great for learning theory and taking breaks, along with two separate beauty and nail teaching rooms. The centre offers lots of natural daylight, with beautiful grounds in which to enjoy lunch. We have a private kitchen and toilet facilities within our centre.

There is a post office / sandwich shop just a short walk away and several pubs in the village, but we’d recommend students bring their own cold food (sandwich / salad) with them to enjoy during the day.

There is free parking available on-site. Parking is not allocated but please take note of signage to avoid blocking access for other businesses based on-site.

For those who need to stay overnight, we recommend The Bell Inn based in walking distance in Kennett. Alternatively a short drive to The Bull Inn at Barton Mills or The Travelodge at Barton Mills, just off the A11 are other convenient options. There is also various accommodation to be found in nearby Newmarket.
