Much of the qualification is completed as home-study, including written and practical coursework making this an ideal route for those who wish to study flexibly around other commitments.

Students complete this qualification as part of a guided, 12 week programme. 

• You’ll access online learning resources such as step by step training videos and e-manuals, to complete written coursework assignments at home. You’ll also need to practice on around 6 female models (friends / family) so will need basic facial skincare products and tools at home for your case studies.
• There is 1 day of practical training required for the course. We ask students to arrive at 9.45am to ensure a prompt start. You will learn the theory of the treatment firstly, and spend the majority of the training days acquiring and demonstrating your practical skills, with a short break for lunch.
• Once you have completed all training and coursework, you will arrange to complete multiple choice written exams via Zoom / VTCT exam website. Once written tests are completed, you’ll arrange to attend for 1 day of practical assessment where you’ll need to bring along your own female models and products, to deliver facial skincare treatments under observation of the Assessor.

Students will need access to a pc to complete coursework and online exams. You’ll need a good understanding of spoken / written English to complete coursework and exams, but no formal qualifications are required to take this course. It is open to complete beginners to beauty / waxing.

We do not include any kits within our training courses, however we provide all products and tools required to complete the practical training on the day, at the training centre for you to use. We took this approach following student feedback so that students are not tied into specific kits or brands of products as part of their course fee, before they are trained and able to make an informed choice. Our training courses teach the generic treatment techniques and processes, they are not brand specific.

We recommend attending training where you will gain advice about different brands and suppliers to enable you to purchase products from your chosen supplier directly following your training. We do offer selected starter kits available to purchase through our website & supplied directly from the supplier to you by courier.

When you have successfully completed your training course(s), you will receive a diploma certificate issued by The Beauty Academy accredited by ABT. This not only demonstrates your commitment to the training, but also allows you to obtain Public Liability insurance so you can start offering treatments to paying clients from home or mobile.

Once you have completed your coursework, written exams and practical assessment day you will receive your VTCT qualification certificate (this can take up to 12 weeks to be released from the awarding body VTCT).

All of our diploma courses enable you to work from both home and mobile offering the specialised treatment(s) that you have completed. You can start earning by offering treatments to paying clients as soon as you have obtained your insurance.

Once you have received your certification from the awarding body VTCT stating your qualification achievement, you are also able to work for larger companies within the industry, including: spas; hotels; salons, skin care / aesthetics clinics and cruise-ships etc. With advanced skills in facial skincare treatments making you a valuable asset to any salon. You can also work as a Freelance Skincare Specialist providing treatments from home or mobile.  The career opportunities are vast! This course is a great stepping stone also to progress onto Level 3 /4+ training in skincare or aesthetics.
