This course is structured over three days and runs from 10am – 4pm. We ask students to arrive at 9.45am to ensure a prompt start. You will learn the theory of the treatment firstly, and spend the majority of the day practising your practical skills, with a short break for lunch.

All training centre locations are our own exclusive, permanent training facilities are set up, ready to train all-year round. Our centres are highly equipped and staffed by our friendly, fully qualified and experienced tutors. We never train from hotel rooms, conference suites or in-salons to ensure you get the best possible learning experience in spacious, well appointed and easily accessible locations.

All training centres can be reached by public transport. Many centres also have parking on-site or within reasonable walking distance.

We do not include any kits within our training courses, however we provide all products and tools required to complete the practical training on the day, at the training centre for you to use. We took this approach following student feedback so that students are not tied into specific kits or brands of products as part of their course fee, before they are trained and able to make an informed choice. Our training courses teach the generic treatment techniques and processes, they are not brand specific.

We recommend attending training where you will gain advice about different brands and suppliers to enable you to purchase products from your chosen supplier directly following your training. We do offer selected starter kits available to purchase through our website & supplied directly from the supplier to you by courier.

Our three-day Professional Make Up Artist training course is designed for complete beginners who have a keen interest in make-up, who are seeking career opportunities within this exciting industry. During the training, you will learn a range of techniques which will enable you to offer special occasion / bridal and photographic make-up services to clients. The course will introduce you to the skills of creating a flawless base and airbrushed finish, through to creating a timeless red carpet glamour look suitable for proms, black tie & work events. Learn the iconic smokey eye look and ombre lips for a captivating and seductive effect. Enhance the flawless base with skin sculpting to add definition, light and dimension to facial contours.

For the majority of the course, you will be practising your make-up looks on each other adhering to a given brief, in-between observing tutor demonstrations. We are not brand-specific and we have a wide range of make-up products for you to use.

Our diploma courses are suitable for complete beginners and do not require any prior learning to be able to train with us; many of our students are not yet beauty trained and are looking to start up a business in the industry. We welcome students of all abilities, whether you are looking to learn a new skill from scratch or currently working as a therapist and looking to refresh your knowledge of particular treatments.

Students will give and receive treatments as part of this course, with students working upon each other so no models are required. All products and tools are provided for the training days at the centre when you attend. No kit is required to complete this training course, nor included in the course fee. On the training days, you only need to bring a hand towel for your personal use, completed enrolment form and cold food for your lunch (e.g. sandwich/salad). Tea & coffee are provided.

We are so proud at The Beauty Academy to work with such a professional, passionate and friendly team of tutors, all of which hold a Level 2 and Level 3 qualification in their specialised sector. Our tutors are also all qualified with either Level 4 PTTLS or equivalent teaching awards in education, with years of experience in beauty-related professional industries. Furthermore, our tutors who are involved in the assessment process all hold an Assessors Award.

When you have successfully completed your training day(s), you will receive The Beauty Academy diploma which is fully Accredited by Associated Beauty Therapists (ABT). This allows you to gain public liability (beauty) insurance to work with paying clients.

We’ve been providing professional training since 1990 so our diploma is well recognised and accepted within the beauty industry, giving you and your prospective clients confidence in your skills and professionalism.

Diplomas are sent by email within 2 working days of attending your course, allowing you to quickly get started with obtaining insurance, purchasing products/tools from your preferred supplier, and earning offering your treatments to your clients!

Upon successful completion of this course, you will feel entirely confident within your treatment skills. We recommend taking some time to practice your skills following training but you can look to start working immediately as you wish!

Once you’ve received your certificate, you’ll be able to obtain public liability (beauty) insurance and purchase products/tools from your chosen supplier. Once set up, you can begin working with paying clients, offering your beauty treatments on a freelance basis. It really is that simple! Begin earning from £25-£50 an hour depending on the treatments you offer!
