This course will take you through this particular extension procedure, blending techniques and maintenance procedure, including aftercare advice.

Suitable for complete beginners or indeed existing therapists looking to learn treatment skills but also have a good understanding of industry best practice in regards to health, safety plus physiology and anatomy relevant to those treatments. The Guild Accredited courses are widely recognised and valued within the industry and upon completion will enable you to gain insurance to work from home or mobile (or to add those treatments to an existing salon insurance).
Guild Accredited Courses carry points for CPD (Continuing Professional Development) for existing therapists and those teaching within beauty therapy. It refers to the process of tracking and documenting the skills, knowledge and experience that you gain both formally and informally as you work, beyond any initial training. It is often required by employers within training or salons to maintain professional status, insurance and ensure best practice standards are upheld.
When enrolling for a Guild Accredited training course, you will book to attend a day (or two, depending on course) of practical training with The Beauty Academy. During practical training you will learn the skills to deliver the treatments to industry standards. Upon completion of the training day(s), you will receive The Beauty Academy diploma.
You will also be sent an ‘activation’ email providing you access to the online learning platform provided by The Guild through which you will have access to extensive learning resources including manuals, images, videos and audio. You will work through the online learning at your own pace, supported fully online as needed.
In order to activate your access to the online learning materials, you must join The Guild as a GTi Student member for which there is an additional cost of £25 paid directly to The Guild online when prompted through your ‘activation’ email. This student membership lasts for 3 months. As part of this GTi Guild Student Membership, you will also be enrolled for the GTi Professional Standards online course for FREE (usually £49)! This covers the basic requirements of health and safety, legislation, hygiene and sanitation, personal appearance, consultations, professional ethics etc. This must be completed to be able to complete your Guild Accredited course but is only required once so if you enrol for further GTi courses, you will not need to repeat this. Upon completion you receive a Guild Accredited certificate for this as an additional qualification to add to your CV.
There are no exams, no assessment days for Guild Accredited courses. You simply attend your face to face training day(s) then work through The Guild GTi course materials entirely online at your own pace. While The Guild recommend you practice your treatments at home following training, there are no case studies required to be submitted and therefore you do not have to have any products or tools at home to complete this course.
Upon completion of your Guild Accredited course (face to face training and online learning), you will receive a PDF certificate from The Guild demonstrating your Guild Accredited course completion. You can then apply to The Guild for Associate membership and full therapist insurance (to begin working with clients), for which you will be offered a £25 discount from The Guild. Alternatively, you can obtain insurance with your chosen insurer as Guild Accredited courses are also recognised by other leading insurers.
You have up to 12 months to complete your online learning with The Guild, however should you wish to enrol for further GTi Guild Accredited courses once your initial GTi Student membership has expired (after 3 months), you will need to purchase a further membership from The Guild for £25. The GTi Professional Standards course is only provided with your first student membership and only needs to be completed once.
You will need to be able to attend 1 (or 2 days, depending on course) of face to face training at one of our 9 training centres. You can opt for a training date of your choosing at the centre most convenient for you.
You will need access to a suitable device such as pc, laptop, tablet etc. that is connected to the internet in order to access The Guild’s online learning platform to complete the theory aspects of your learning. Mobile phones are not optimally compatible so alternative devices are recommended. This learning can be completed anytime, anywhere convenient to you, at your own pace. Fully supported online as needed.
You will need to purchase Guild GTi Student Membership at an additional cost of £25 to access The Guild online learning platform. This includes a FREE GTi Professional Standards Course (usually £49) and also allows you to receive a £25 discount when upgrading to full Associate Membership and insurance with The Guild upon completion of your course (where the course is completed in full prior to your 3 month student membership expiring). Completion of the GTi Professional Standards course is mandatory to achieve your Guild Accredited course certificate, but is only completed once so is not required again if you opt to enrol for further Guild Accredited courses in future.
You complete the theory entirely online through The Guild online learning platform. There are no formal exams, no assessment days and no case studies required (although we do recommend you practice at home). No kits are included in the course fees. However, you do not need any products or kits to complete these courses, although we recommend these to help build up your confidence at home and will be required to begin delivering your treatments to clients once insured.
You can select a training date convenient for you, at your preferred training centre. Training is available at least once per month at all of our 9 centres.
You will receive an ‘activation’ email where you will need to sign up for Guild GTi Student Membership and can then begin accessing the online learning platform to start learning the theory aspects. You will need to complete the GTi Professional Standards Course first, followed by the relevant Guild GTi treatment specific course upon which you enrol as guided within their online learning platform. GTi Student membership lasts for 3 months and they recommend students complete their course within this time frame (including face to face training day(s) and online learning). Where complete within 3 months, you can receive a £25 discount on upgrading to full Associate Membership and insurance to start working with clients.
Students can take up to 12 months to complete their Guild Accredited course(s) in full, however once GTi Student Membership expires after 3 months, you would need to purchase a further student membership at £25 (or full membership with insurance) to enrol for any further Guild Accredited GTi training courses.
Upon successful completion of this course (including practical training and completion of theory work through the GTi Guild Student Portal) you will be awarded 22 CPD points as recognised on your certificate issued by The Guild of Beauty Therapists.

The practical training for this course is for one day and runs from 10am – 4pm. We ask students to arrive at 9.45am to ensure a prompt start. You will learn the basic theory of the treatment firstly, and spend the majority of the day practising your practical skills, with a short break for lunch. Students will be required to give and receive treatments as part of this course and so must ensure they complete the patch test provided (tint) no later than 24 hours before attending the course. Please ensure you allow growth of the brow hair before attending the course (where possible). No kit is required to complete this course and no kit is included in the course fee, however you will be provided with all products/tools required to complete the training day, on the day at the training centre.
You will also receive access to The Guild GTi online course where you can access the beautifully written theory to the course, accompanied by images, video clips and a voice-over. UV gel nail extensions uses a no-odour system, requiring no additional products or chemicals (sometimes referred to as a ‘pre-mixed system’), using an ultraviolet (UV) light is used to cure/set the extension. This offers a more flexible nail extension alternative for those not suited to acrylics, wanting a natural looking tip still allowing the nail underneath to grow. UV gel extensions are in high-demand and this treatment proves to be an extremely profitable skill to learn. You will learn all you need to know to offer UV gel extensions to your clients to an industry standard.

Our diploma courses are suitable for complete beginners and do not require any prior learning to be able to train with us; many of our students are not yet beauty trained and are looking to start up a business in the industry. We welcome students of all abilities, whether you are looking to learn a new skill from scratch or currently working as a therapist and looking to refresh your knowledge of particular treatments. As Guild Accredited courses also carry CPD points, they are ideal for existing therapists or those teaching within beauty to further develop their knowledge and skills while maintaining their professional status.
You will work on a professional nail trainer hand on your training day so no models are required. All products and tools are provided for the training day at the centre when you attend. No kit is required to complete the training day, nor included in the course fee. On the training day, you only need to bring a hand towel for your personal use, completed enrolment form and cold food for your lunch (e.g. sandwich/salad). Tea & coffee are provided on the training day. You will receive The Beauty Academy diploma upon completion of the practical training day.
There are no formal exams, no assessment days and no case studies required to achieve your Guild Accredited certificate (although it is recommended that you practice to develop your confidence beyond training). This not only demonstrates your commitment to the training, but also allows you to obtain Public Liability insurance so you can start offering treatments to paying clients from home or mobile should you wish.
Upon completion of the theory aspects (completed through The Guild online learning platform), you will also receive The Guild Accredited certificate issued as a PDF direct from The Guild. You can purchase a hard copy of The Guild certificate directly through them for a cost of £15. You can then obtain Associate Membership & insurance with The Guild, with a £25 discount for those who complete their courses within 3 months of enrolment and upgrade their Guild GTi Student Membership.
Once you have completed the practical training days, you will receive a certificate by email issued by The Beauty Academy and accredited by ABT recognising your achievement of the practical aspects. Upon completion of the theory aspects (completed online through The Guild online learning platform), you will then receive a PDF certificate issued directly by The Guild for your Guild Accredited Course allowing you to gain insurance with The Guild (or any other leading insurance provider) to begin working with paying clients, offering your treatment services. Completion of a Guild Accredited Course allows you to obtain Associate Membership and insurance with The Guild. Where you complete your Guild Accredited course in full within 3 months of enrolment, you are eligible to upgrade your Guild GTi Student Membership to Associate Membership with insurance and receive a £25 discount.
