Qualification: Following your training course you will receive The Beauty Academy Diploma - this will enable you to obtain public liability insurance.  You will also receive your NVQ Level 2 in Manicure and Pedicure after assessment and portfolio submission.

Train for your NVQ in Manicure and Pedicure in just two weeks and gain employment in a salon.

You will learn all aspects of manicure and pedicure treatments during your training, making you an asset to any salon or spa.  Starting from a basic treatment, which usually includes nail shaping, cuticle work and painting, you will progress to a prescriptive treatment which will include nail diagnosis, skin diagnosis and treatment planning.

Hot oil treatment, exfoliation, paraffin wax masks, treatment masks, use of thermal mitts and boots, will all be incorporated in your practical training sessions as will luxury massage techniques incorporating hot stones.  These advanced techniques will enable you to adapt this salon essential treatment to the needs of your individual client.

Theory sessions will cover:-

• Health and safety and COSHH relating to nail treatments
• Contra-indications to nail treatments
• Sterilisation and sanitisation of equipment
• Structure and function of the nail
• Anatomy and physiology
• Home care advice

Practical sessions will cover:-

• Preparation of the client and the treatment area
• Basic manicure procedure
• Luxury manicure procedure
• Basic pedicure procedure
• Luxury pedicure procedure
• Advanced massage techniques and application of hot stones
• Application of French, American and block colour enamel
