NVQ Beauty and Nail Training: Qualifications
When considering a change of career into beauty therapy or nail technology, it is extremely important to consider the qualifications needed in order to gain employment. NVQ qualifications are valued by employers because they prove that you have completed an accomplished beauty course and therefore are able to perform proficiently in your job. Holding these prestigious awards shows an employer that you are committed to your career and have invested time and effort into gaining the relevant qualifications. Many of our students require this qualifiation to obtan a licence from the local authority in able to work in London. NEW: Full Time Route Our full time course offers structure and a great deal of support, yet at the same time, flexibility. You can choose whether you want to achieve an individual NVQ unit or the full Level 2 qualification. This in-depth training is an excellent grounding for those seeking full time employment in the beauty industry. The full time route runs at our London training centre on selected dates. The course consists of both theory and practical work. The Beauty Academy is renowned for its high quality training and student support. Following their training with us, many of our students have secured employment in some of London's leading hotels, in spas and on cruise liners. Part Time Route (Weekend Courses)This intensive programme is designed for students requiring an 'industry-ready' qualification in the shortest possible time. Students choosing this route receive considerably more practical training under the close guidance of an experienced tutor. This flexible programme ensures that students gain the required knowledge, confidence and experience required to obtain employment or to set up their own business. The part time route runs at our Cambridge and London training centres approximately two to three times a year. Places are limited to eight students. It is essential that students enrolling on NVQ courses allocate a minimum of five study hours each week. To comply with the rigorous NVQ assessment process, students are assessed on a minimum of three separate occasions for each treatment - it is therefore essential that students can provide female models to work on. NB: A good command of the English language, both written and verbal, is required to complete this award.
Flexible Study Route This is a flexible way for students to achieve an 'industry-ready' qualification. Following practical training days, students are given written and practical assignments to be completed from home. Students then return to The Beauty Academy for portfolio building days where they will perform treatments on clients, receive support and guidance from their tutor and perfect their skills in preparation for their assessment. To comply with the rigorous NVQ assessment procedure, it is essential that student can provide female models to work on during their portfolio building and assessment days. NB: Written tests are an essential part of an NVQ qualification. A good command of the English language, both written and verbal is therefore required to complete this award. Following your intensive Beauty Academy Diploma courses, approximately 16-20 weeks should be allowed to achieve the NVQ Level qualification.
